Fall 2011
Total Energy will be hosting this event to celebrate the life and honor the memory of Captain Kimberly Hampton
as well as in the support of our troops, veterans and educational causes.
Who is Captain Kimberly Hampton?
U.S. Army Captain Kimberly Nicole Hampton, the first female military pilot to be shot down
and killed by the enemy in United States history, was flying an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter
above the outskirts of Fallujah, Iraq, in a raid on an illicit weapons marketplace
when she was shot down on January 2, 2004. She lived her dream of commanding a U. S. Army Air Cavalry troop,
and died as a footnote in history: America's first female military pilot killed in combat by the enemy.
100% of the proceeds gathered at this event will be used for the following:
The Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Scholarship for deserving seniors at Easley High School, Easley, SC
The Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library in Easley, SC
